EVERY WOMAN IS A DAUGHTER AND WE ARE ALL KEEPERS
I Am My Daughter’s Keeper is the first nonprofit of its kind, focusing solely on the multigenerational impact of mother-daughter relationships on women. While we are starting one city at a time, we recognize our work is national in scope and rooted within the schools, churches, recreational facilities and communities in which these mothers and daughters reside. Our audience is comprised of young ladies and women of all ages across all ethnicities.

OUR
The mother- daughter bond is known as a complex, diverse, lifelong, intimate connection that significantly affects all phases of development and is often impacted when self love, expression and fulfillment are lacking. It is our mission to equip all mothers and daughters or caretakers of young ladies with the tools and resources necessary to produce and maintain healthy mother-daughter relationships while increasing the possibility of thriving outside of the home, which has been shown to result in a greater sense of self esteem and fulfillment. Weaving therapy into our blueprint for many of our initiatives, we not only dispel the stigma associated with counseling within various communities but also promote healing from past traumas and create open lines for communication between mothers and daughters.
I Am My Daughter’s Keeper utilizes a whole person approach, seeking to empower young ladies in areas of self love, personal care, education and social/peer pressure while our focus for women/caregivers is in areas of financial literacy, health and wellness, career coaching/planning and self love/relationships. Science supports that many adolescent females across all ethnicities and socioeconomic statuses suffer contentious relationships with their moms. Research has proven that young ladies often develop their sense of self, emotional health and perseverance, among many other attributes, from their mothers (and female mentors) which is passed down through generations. Focusing on the aforementioned areas of an individual’s development increases the chances of nurturing and growing healthy, well functioning mother-daughter bonds.
Our program partners with local schools, businesses, recreational facilities and other nonprofit organizations in addition to offering stand-alone workshops, summits and community events.
We are working to create a national nonprofit organization that will change the lives of mothers and daughters everywhere for generations to come. Every woman is a daughter and we are all keepers.
